Problem with VFPOLEDB.1 not being on a PC.

  1. Default Problem with VFPOLEDB.1 not being on a PC.

I receive the following error from an ADO open connection statement:

The 'VFPOLEDB.1' provider is not registered on the local machine.

Where do I find this driver(what is it called)? And making an assumption
that it may not be on the local machine where do I get it?

    Hi Darrell,

I believe you could install it separately. Check next KB to get more
    information about it

    Hi Val,

Do you know how this dll normally gets installed (what program or OS
normally adds it to the system)? Or is this a Visual FoxPro Install thing?

    Darrell

It's installed with Visual FoxPro 9.0. It is not installed with the OS or any other Windows OS
    software I am aware of.

I know that the ODBC driver came with MDAC 2.5 but not in any later versions.
You'd thnk that MS would include this with MDAC when any new version is
    needed.

Actually I thnk that VFPOLEDB.1 came with Visual FoxPro 8.0.

    Hi Darrell,

You need to download the latest version from
msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates. It's not installed with the OS
    or with any MDAC versions.

    Hi,

As I know it is installed with the FoxPro itself and I know that MDAC will
not contain any versions ODBC driver anymore. Check next KB about it
