Designer makes an absolutely, completely, different kind of form.
Acrobat cannot edit these files in any way - it just becomes a form
filler like Reader. All further edits, ever, must be done in Designer,
and if there's something Designer can't do, then it can't be done.

If you don't want the new features of Designer, and to completely
convert your workflow, just don't use Designer. Use the forms tools in
Acrobat as you always have (they are moved around, but on the Advanced
Editing toolbar).
