Windows/Acrobat Installer AcroPro.msi problem.

  1. Default Windows/Acrobat Installer AcroPro.msi problem.

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I keep getting a popup window that says that a acropro.msi file is
missing. This happens whenever i try to do ANYTHING on my computer
(open a folder, send an email, open a browser, etc).

I have no idea what to do. I am guessing this is related to my Adobe
Acrobat Pro 7, but I see that particular file and when I try to get
the installer to point to it, it won't.

I have set my system restore point back to a time before I installed
this program and nothing. I still get the same problem.

I can't do anything on my computer without this installer popping up
and don't know what to do.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

In one of the crappiest application installation plans ever, Adobe
placed this critical file in the temp folder on installation, where it
    is bound to be flushed.

Adobe requires the msi file to do practically anything. If you even
try to change the preferences to the application you have to have the
    friggin' msi.

Going to Add/Remove programs and choosing "Repair" doesn't work
because it requires the... any guesses? That's right! the msi!

We have a site license and no cd's about, so we're pretty much left
with uninstalling and reinstalling with from our downloadable exe...

i have this problem too... s3arching g0ogle did not yield any helpful results so i decided to live dangerously and poke around....

i ended up fixing the problem!! in my case it was acrobat 7.1 that was fucking up my shit prolly cause i deleted a bunch of shit from program files without using the uninstaller... anyway, the fix was pretty easy:

open your windows reg1stry and search for acropro.msi

when you find the section for the installer (on mine it was hkey_local_machine\software\classes\installer\products), delete the entire section (the folder on the left side with the huge ass hex address like 000102301239451294000000000000000fffffff000 or whatever..)

now when i open my documents or my c0mputer, the wizard doesnt pop up anymore!
