Use the link tool in Adobe Acrobat.
yes I did that to link to the files but I need to link to a specific page within that file

The link tool does that too. At least in most versions. What version
of Acrobat do you have?

I have version 8 pro, and it will link to the file but defaults to the first page
tried to add a second action to the link but it just crashed the file
Use a "Go to a page view" link, just as you would to link within one
PDF. It may help to arrange the source and destination files side by
side.

I did that. I linked to a document, then added go to a page view and it shuts down after the first command
No. Link to a page view. Nothing else.

Use onla a 'Go to a page view' link.
Thanks for trying guys but that is not it. I have (2) PDFs, 1 is an indices of several pdfs. In that indices, I am trying to link to another pdf and a specific page within that pdf. When you link to a page view it only gives the option of another page within that pdf not to another pdf.
If anyone can help or hads another idea that is not in the help manual, please respond
thanks
Guy
