720p with 2.35:1 guide lines?!?

This is a discussion on 720p with 2.35:1 guide lines?!? within the Adobe After Effects forums in Adobe Tools category; My comp settings are at 1280x720p... I need to add solid bars to crop my image down to 2.35;1. But, im not to sure where to put them. How many pixels from the top and bottom should i place my rulers lines? Is it 90 pixels from the top and bottom? So i'll be placing one ruler at 90 and another 630 for my 2.35:1 guide lines?...

My math would be this. (all rounded out)

1280 / 2.35 = 545

720 - 545 = 175

175/2 = 87

therefor 87 pxl (top and bottom)

Hopefully this is close enough.
