Re: AE CS4 crashes on startup (Mac OSX 10.5.5) I am running AE CS4 9.0.2 and OS X 10.5.7.
I had a similar problem where AE would crash on start up. I discovered that three files in my Library/QuickTime folder were causing the problem. They were:
Flip4Mac WMV Advanced.component
Flip4Mac WMV Export.component
Flip4Mac WMV Import.component
After I found this out, I went to the Flip4Mac website (Telestream Flip4Mac WMV - Overview) and downloaded the latest free version of the program. After installing it, AE started up fine.
