Illustrator CS3 Not Embedding Useful CMYK Profile?

This is a discussion on Illustrator CS3 Not Embedding Useful CMYK Profile? within the Adobe Color Management forums in Adobe Tools category; This is weird, I was having problems with the way QuarkXpress (v7.3) was displaying 2 vector eps files I created in Illustrator (both CMYK + PMS Spot). I wouldn't rely on the import dialog. Profiles for a mixture of vector
objects (which could each have a different profile) would be way
harder to work out that the profile on a single raster.

Use preflighting to confirm or deny the theory.
