Chromatic Adaption Mode

This is a discussion on Chromatic Adaption Mode within the Adobe Color Management forums in Adobe Tools category; Hallo, In the Spyder Elite in Preferences - advanced there is the option to switch from the default 'Bradford' to 'XYZ scaling'. Is this anything to do with the Eye one's equivalent of: 'Small (matrix)' and Large (LUT)? Since I have the elite could someone explain please. I typed this into google and came up with only 20 hits about nothing. thankyou Chris....

I hear that Bradford is a better chromatic adaptation model than XYZ scaling.

To quote Bruce Lindbloom (<http://www.brucelindbloom.com/index.html?Eqn_ChromAdapt.html>):

XYZ Scaling is generally considered to be an inferior chromatic adaptation
algorithm. [...]

The Bradford method is the newest of the three methods [the third one
being Von Kries], and is considered by most experts to be the best of
them. This is the method used in Adobe Photoshop. A related article comparing
the chromatic adaptation algorithms may be found at <http://www.brucelindbloom.com/index.html?ChromAdaptEval.html>.
