Every time I 'Update Book', I get an 'Unresolved Cross Reference' error report for one of the chapters. But, when I run a 'Find: Unresolved Cross-references' on the whole Book, it never finds any.
If I save the book as a PDF, all the x-refs work perfectly, so I don't think the error is real.
How can I get rid of this phantom error?

If you've got conditional text and a hidden cross-refernce to text that's also hidden, you'll get a spurious error when you update. You can't get rid of it, but it's safe to ignore it.

Be sure to search the Master and Reference pages separately-- a normal search doesn't touch them.

Geoff:
I get an 'Unresolved Cross Reference' error report for one of the chapters.
Each unresolved cross reference listed in the pop-up report box is a clickable link.
Try this: Click a link to go to the location of the unresolved cross reference; immediately after being taken there, press DELETE to delete the x-ref marker…(?)
Cheers & hope this helps,
Riley
Other option is to open the chapter in question and use the find to locate the unresolved cross reference. There seems to be a bug in FM that if you find an unresolved cross reference and fix it, then do an File>update references, the same unresoled cross reference appears. Proof is the paragrapg tag is now cross reference markers. One of the fixes is to do a Update book. Seem to see this happeneing more in v7.2
