My doc has auto number heading styles. I go to create a cross ref link to a level 3 heading and I see one entry that I did not create and can't find with the Find/Change feature. I select the word, go to Special->Cross Reference on the menu bar, and it lists my valid heading 3s, plus this weird one, as follows:
1.1.1 Valid Heading
1.1.2 Valid Heading
1.1.1 nn.,mn,
1.4.1 Valid Heading
1.4.2 Valid Heading
Does the "nn.,mm," entry look like something I can find and eliminate? Thanx for any help you may provide.

Hi, Billy:
It's probably on a master page, in a text frame that has a flow tag, like Flow: A, so the contents don't appear on a body page, but the reference marker does show in the cross-reference dialog box.
Try the find on master pages.

The phantom cross refs (there are more than the one I pointed out) cant seem to be found on the master pages. I did a find for "all cross references" and none of them showed up. Is there another way to find them? They definitely do not show up in the TOC. I mentioned the one in my level 3, but I just found one in level 2 and another in level 1:
Heading2:
1.1 - Valid
1.1 - L;KLKJIKI
1.2 - Valid
Heading 1:
Section 1.0 - Valid
Section 1.0 - SFSFSDF
Could they be in the Reference Pages?
I answerd my own question, I just found them in the Reference pages, duh on me.
Hi, Billy:
Good deal!
Just to be clear, you probably found paragraphs on the reference pages whose Heading 1, Heading 2, etc. tags appear in the cross-reference dialog box, when you choose the paragraph format type. This is normal. They are not cross-references; they are paragraphs that you could point to as cross-reference sources.
