Updating Template Pack

  1. Default Updating Template Pack

    I downloaded the Template Pack(s) but they are for a previous version of FrameMaker. How do I update the books for FrameMaker 7.1?

    Also, when I try to add a chapter and update the book, I get an error message: "Couldn't update book, because it contains no openable nongenerated files."
    What does it means?

    Update them for 7.x by opening and then saving them in the 7.x format.

    The error message means that you haven't saved the component files yet (I think) so they're not locked into a 7.x format. Therefore the book file can't open them directly because the "OK to Open with... " warning message stops the automatic file open process.

    Only thing you may have to update manually is to add support for automatic chapter and volume numbering using the <$chapnum> and <$volnum> variables, which didn't exist in the 5.x time frame.
