Numbering Issue - Adobe Framemaker

Hello All,

I am having a problem with numbering a list. I have a test with 20 questions and each question has 5 choices. I set up a counter for the questions, <n=1> for questions and the choices. How do I keep the autonumber formats separate. I numbered my questions and they turned out fine. When I tried to number the choices-a, b, c, d, and e, my questions were renumbered. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with my counters. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
