Customizing Clip Art (specifically arrows)

This is a discussion on Customizing Clip Art (specifically arrows) within the Adobe Framemaker forums in Adobe Tools category; So I have the Framemaker Arrow.fm file open in Framemaker 8. I have chose the slightly bent arrow. I have copied it to my new document and when I go to fill it, it fills outside of my object. Is there no way to fill a compound object? What are my options? I can't make lines connect to each other without grouping, but still Framemaker won't see it as an entire fillable shape anyways.

How do others of you handle this? What programs do you use to create your clipart and import them into graphics? Or do you do the entire graphic externally, then import it?

Would love the feedback!

Thanks!

I create all graphics externally in Illustrator or Photoshop, save as eps or appropriate bitmap, then import them by reference into Frame. I avoid using the drawing tools in Frame as much as possible because I find them antiquated and difficult to use.
