You will have to add an unstroked/unfilled object to the Side tile element, so that the height of the Side tile matches the height of the Corner tile.

Click on the thumbnail to the left and you'll see a larger view of two filigree elements that I've created. My question should be pretty obvious. I want to make a pattern brush so the the straight side piece lines up and abuts perfectly with the corner piece. When I've tried this, it appears that the alignment is dependent upon the the center point of each piece. Since the bounding boxes are two different sizes, they don't line up when I attempt to stroke a common rectangle.
Some tips would be appreciated, just to steer me in the right direction, because I have a feeling I'll be making a bunch of these.
