We are running Illustrator CS2 on PPC Macs running OS X 10.4.4 with 0.5Gb to 2Gb of RAM.
We are creating artwork files in Illustrator CS2 and saving them down as a PDF from Illustrator with Illustrator editing capability turned on.
When these files are opened back up in Illustrator CS2 we are getting the following error...
'This text was created in a previous version of Illustrator. Editing the text may cause some changes to your text layout. Basic formatting will not be affected. Do you want to continue?'
This is an intermittent but very annoying problem. When we have this error the text will have moved slightly compared to the originally saved down version.
This error occurs when you click inside the text to edit it. Clicking continue in the error window moves the text back to it's original position but if nothing needs to change within the affected text it is very easy to miss as we are only talking about a shift of 1-2mm but when a client has already approved the intial artwork this could be an issue.
I originally suspected that Illustrator could be treating this text as 'Legacy Text' but the option in the top drop-down menus is grayed out.
Has anyone come across this before?
Does anyone have any idea why we are getting this on an intermittent basis?
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
