I am trying to make text wrap inside of a circular object. I made sure the object layer is above the text and there there are no other objects interfering, and still the text will not wrap!!!! I have also tried getting rid of all other objects so text n object are the only ones...doesnt work. I have switched positions of layers...doesnt work. Is there something else I am doing wrong?---I know I could just warp object to achieve the same effect, but I would much rather figure out how to make text wrap work. PLEASE...if you have any idea as to why text isnt wrapping let me know!!!! THANK YOU.

An aside: this is one of the things that used to be sooo much
easier in Freehand.

Cynthia,
It is unclear whether you want a Text Wrap or Area Text. Text Wrap avoids an object, flowing outside of it, while Area Text fills an object. Making an area text object is a first step to making a text wrap, though.
Also, which version of Illustrator are you using? The way to create Area Text is mostly the same all versions (click the text tool on the edge of the path that you want the text to go inside of). But the way to create a Text Wrap changed significantly between AI 10 and AI CS.
I definately needed to Text wrap. And I am using AI CS2. And your diagram helps a lot. Thank you very much.
