Illustrator 10 in OS9 : Adobe illustrator
This is a discussion on Illustrator 10 in OS9 within the Adobe illustrator forums in Adobe Tools category; Hi - I'm still running OS 9.2 and have Illustrator 10 installed. My application used to save and save as and save a copy but now no longer does any of this. I have reinstalled over as well as deleted the folder and reinstalled new. Still nothing. Then after searching through this group, I tried updating to 10.0.3 but still won't let me save. Any ideas of what to do next?...

| As far as what we hear from engineers working there, current versions of none of the creative suite programs (PS, AI, Flash, Dreamweaver, ID, etc.) run on "Classic" on the Macintosh Now I've been wrong plenty of times, but our company writes books, and we've been working with Adobe for about 22 years. I think they say it doesn't work with Classic on the Mac. Expect stuff not to run on the Mac G4/5 Chip too much longer, either. In the future Adobe apps will require an Intel chip to run, too; not just a newer OS on the Macintosh. I have no idea know when, but in some cases applications like Premiere and After Effects and audio applications already require Intel Macs. That change in chip support by Adobe was a much bigger move then a lot of us in the graphic arts industry realized at the time-- like buy new apps or die. In their defense, they had to update because Apple changed chips. But the chip change makes big bucs for all, let me tell you. There are people using older software like you are all over the place -- that's not a bad thing in and of itself -- but upgrading is in your future if you don't want to return to old tools.
