Default Text to Outlines, L's are thick in pdf

    I am using Illustrator CS2.

Why do some fonts look awful when converted to outlines then saved as a.pdf? All of the L's in my documents are either two or three times as thick as they should be when i save the .ai file as a .pdf then open it in Acrobat.

Am I doing something wrong here?

The file prints fine but I want the .pdf file to be clean looking.

It's a rendering issue in Acrobat/Reader. Try zooming in tight.

Not much you can do about it. If it looks better when you don't convert to outlines, leave the type as type and embed the fonts.
