Anchor point align and numbering
I have an object with many (15) anchor points. I would like nine of these
points to align vertically with a point I will call point ten. I can use
smart guides but that means I have to move each one by itself. I guess I
could write an action script, but this is just one thing that I probably
won't repeat. Is there an align (horizontally or vertically) for anchor
points? I work in CS2..
PS, Can Illustrator display anchor point numbers like 3D Studio Max can? It
would be great to see what the first and last anchor points are. This also
makes it obvious if there is an anchor(node) on top of another anchor(node).

Re: Anchor point align and numbering

In CS2, the closest is the Average command, but that will align all the selected anchor points to their common center, not to a specified "pinned" one. You could let them all move, and then drag the entire selection onto a guide, though. Which isn't ideal, but is better than moving them one at a time.
CS3 will align anchor points. The one it aligns to is the last one selected. So if you have 10 of them selected, in that order, and you decide you want to align them all to the third one you selected, you must shift-deselect point 3 and then shift-select it, so that it becomes the last one selected. Then use the Align buttons.
