Printing black and white?? Supposed to be color.....

I'm new to Illustrator and I'm trying to print my doc. It will not print in color though, it is in black and white! All my other docs are printing just fine - can someone help?

What is your Illustrator version and printer model? Illustrator CS3 prints Black & White only in 2 scenarios:

1. Printing to a non-PostScript printer and printer's Properties is set up as Black & White.

2. Printing to a PostScript printer and selecting a gray color profile as Printer Profile.

Well... I am having a same problem. I have been using illustrator for years and never had this problem before. It is NOT printer's properties though. I checked EVERYTHING. My original file prints fine in color, but the updated file (which the setting should be exactly same as the original) prints only in b & w under same postscript printer with same setting.

If anyone knows how to solve this, please post the solution for us!

I've seen this happen on different PS printers and it seemed to hit or miss,
depending on the file. What fixed it for me was to go into the Color
Management section of the print dialog box and change Color Handling from
"Let Illustrator determine colors" to "Let PostScript printer determine
colors"

Also check the postscript language level (in he print settings), try dropping it as the later versions of illy support L3 Postscript which some printers don't like.

EDIT > COLOR SETTINGS

change it to : sRGB IEC61966-2.1

which should change everything else....It appears color on screen but prints greyscale
