I've run into a problem all of a sudden with Illustrator CS3. For some reason it freezes when I try to open any file. It seems to start up ok but when I save a simple test file, it will not open it - it just freezes. I've tried repairing permissions, reinstalling Illustrator, trashing preferences. I'm not sure what to do from here. I am using CS3 13.02.I'm running OS X 10.4.11 and I have a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo- 2 Gig of Ram. Would really appreciate help, I need to finish the illustrations which are going to my client tomorrow. rskover

Sounds like you have very little room left on your start up disk try choosing another disk as your scratch. Or move some files to another disk to free up space.

Checked fonts? Checked permissions on the Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe that it is all read and write including sub-folders? (repair permissions on system level will not fix those folders). When you say trashing preferences what exactly did you trash? Many trash the wrong files. The .plist file will not do anything. You might need to trash the entire Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings folder inside Macintosh HD/Users/your username/Library/Preferences.

Are you sure that it will work on 10.4? Maybe an upgrade to 10.5?
