Plug-ins Proteus Data.framework plug-in : Adobe Indesign

This is a discussion on Plug-ins Proteus Data.framework plug-in within the Adobe Indesign forums in Adobe Tools category; Does anyone know what this plug-in is used for? We recently had a designer leave and installed this plug-in before his departure. When I work on files between systems I get an alert that this plug-in is not installed on my system, but I have no idea what it's for. thank you....
