Re-sizing Text Frames?? Do I have to cut andpaste text into new frames?

Hey. I have some text frames that are following one another in a 3 column layout. I had them at 8 point copy and need to change them to 10 point. Obviously this screws up my layout and I'll have to move a lot of stuff around and copy text to new frames. Is there an easier way?

I don't get it. Is sounds like you're asking how to make your text 25% larger without having to resize columns. But that sounds like a very dumb question, so I think I'm not following the problem. Can you restate, giving more information? What it the problem?

Scott, sorry. I have multiple frames of text. These I made the type too small in. I guess what I will have to do, since resizing them makes them flow on top of one another, is, I will have to copy the text to a new master page, frame by frame.

I just wondered if someone new some magic work around.
Otherwise when i make one text block bigger, say size 10 pt, the blocks run into one another and the page becomes a mess.

I'm still not getting the problem...

resizing them makes them flow on top of one another

    What does that mean?

I will have to copy the text to a new master page, frame by frame.

Why do think you have to do that? It the text is linked, then there's nothing to copy and paste.

Perhaps a PDF or a screen shot of a before and after will help.

It sounds like Lawton doesn't have his frames linked. It sounds like they are separate frames and are getting overset.

    Is this the case?

Scott and Harbs, sorry for not getting back. Harb was right, in that my text frames were not linked and they were overset. How do I link my text frames so that does not happen?

    PS- You guys ROCK!

Thanks to everyone on these boards.

    Lawton,

The correct terminology is threading text frames. Take a look in the help system under that title. There's a comprehensive description with pictures.
