Copying and pasting from Word isn't saving - Adobe Indesign

I'm in the IT department and one of our employees is having an issue with InDesign where she is copying and pasting from Word into her project. She said that the screen flashes and appears to save it but when they look at the final project, her changes aren't there. I'm not familiar with this software at all. I don't think the standard uninstall/reinstall is going to fix the issue. Any ideas of what could be happening? Is she not saving correctly or is there a log to see any type of errors?
