Hello, I have no tried installing the trial on three different machines and have gotten this message each time I have tried to launch the program and begin the trial: "A problem was encountered while trying to load the trial period for Adobe InDesign CS3. Click quit to see if restarting your computer or reinstalling the software fixes this problem. Otherwise, click Continue to display a screen where you can enter a valid serial number to begin using the product without trial." All of the machines I have tried to install on are running Windows XP SP2. Thanks for any help!

When did you download the trial? There was a problem, don't recall what exactly, with the version posted prior to July 1, I think, that caused premature ending. Peter

I have the exact same issue. The product installed OK, but when I choose "Start 30 day trial" I am simply told "A problem was encountered..." The download is from Adobe web page, 15 August 2008. File size 459.188.632 bytes, MD5 = 27d34a3d4e5c5f08992b74c9747f4280 Payload code = 24D77A7C-E10B-4057-9974-FAB8BFDAC853 Payloads/Setup.xml: 458H Setup version="1.0.135.0" The software was installed on a fresh PC 2GHz, 1Gb memory, with win XP. It is totally frustrating that not even a trial can start. At least Quark gets that one right.. I truly understand people that search for a key generate online. All I needed was a trial while I wait for my paid copy to appear. Btw: InCopy will not even install, here I am simply told: "You can only run one installer at a time".. although InDesign was already completely installed. Shame on you, Adobe installer team. Shame on you.

They pretty much told me I was out of luck as it was a trial. I didn't say it but what I was thihnking was "Adobe is out of luck since I won't be buying there product... Ever". Last time I called support to get a re-serialization of one of the products I own, it took 2 weeks and three hours on the phone with seven different techs. I got s survey from them, basically told them I thought there support was crap and never heard back from them again. I'll be giving my money to someone else. |

I'm also having the problem, and I suspect that it might have to do with the recent Windows XP update to service pack 3. Two trials from Adobe on two different machines just recently failed for me with the same error. 1. Adobe InDesign CS3 Windows Trial running on Windows XP SP3, under a Parallels Virtual Machine on an Intel iMac. 2. Robohelp 7 trial on a separate machine, but same configuration: winxp sp3, on parallels via an intel imac.
