This is a discussion on Re: Embedded images from office appearing as black boxes within the Adobe Pagemaker forums in Adobe Tools category; The answer is don't embed. There is no way PM, which is last century, is compatible with Office 2007 Use the images in their original format, and then use File -> Place to import them into PM.
