++Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended - license expired!++ : Adobe Photoshop
This is a discussion on ++Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended - license expired!++ within the Adobe Photoshop forums in Adobe Tools category; No doubt, "I need the solution here" definitely sounds suspicious, but I figured I'd give him the benefit of doubt, particularly in light of the other user who found, with Adobe's assistance, that his PS CS3 serial number weas invalid....

There are other reasons not to register. I am a legit owner of Adobe software, but hesitated a long time before registering under my own name: I hate to leave a trail of my name and address on the internet and I don't have to register to have a legal right to support - in my country at least. The only reason I have now registered properly with Adobe is because I don't want to have to fight for my rights and there seemed top be a lot of problems installing CS3. I indeed had occasion to ring Adobe support (who were quick and helpful). These forums taught me that registering makes life easier but I still am suprised at the ease with which particularly Americans seem to register - I remain very careful with this sort of thing. -- Adriana |

There are other reasons not to register. We are not discussing registration. Registration is not activation/installation! Since CS2, you need to let Adobe know your computer is using Photoshop so that Photoshop can be activated.

> if you don't register your serial number with Adobe someone else can. I did not realise this. But as I said: I háve registered, just not automatically. I thought long and hard about it, and will think long and hard again the next time. -- Adriana

We are not discussing registration. Registration is not activation/installation! true but if you don't register and someone else does register your number then calls Adobe and says hmmm I don't seem to be able to activate my computer can you erase my activations so I can start over? all of a sudden you have just given your version to someone else. and you don't have a leg to stand on.

you don't have a leg to stand on You can still drag yourself across the floor. In the rare event that someone registers your software before you do, you can of course present your case to Adobe, showing that you have the original media and the bill of sale (aka receipt). This, of course, is a much greater hassle than initially registering the software.

Not being funny Yazan but I have posted you a fix for this already and to turn round and just state "cannot use/don't know where to find" is a bit lazy mate. If only all solutions to life's problems were handed to us in forums with no user knowledge needed! I'm known in town as the creep that's into zombies

you can of course present your case to Adobe, showing that you have the original media and the bill of sale (aka receipt). If you keep that stuff you are most likely to have registered the software the instant you installed it. I'm talking about the people who don't register, have not bothered to write down the serial number or even know where the install disks are. You know this happens we see it all the time here.

There are other reasons not to register. yes, stupidity! (kidding) seriously, if i make a 600+ dollar investment, i want the manufacturer to know it so i can get support for said investment. i'd normally agree w/you for anything under say, 50 bux. including most games. but not for something that costs this much! that's penny wise and pound foolish!
