CD Won't Recognize Photoshop Disc
Hello,
I'm having a problem loading Photoshop CS2 onto my new OS, XP Home. I had already been using it on this computer on W2K before, but had to reformat the drive and so I upgraded to XP Home.
Now, when I put the cd into the drive, nothing's booting up or even being recognized if I use "explore" the cd drive. NOthing is showing up.
Verified the cd is working fine. I just got Photoshop last yr, and only played around woth it on the old setup shortly, so the disc and version are fine and current. Does anyone have any ideas what's happening??
Thanks,
Chris

Re: CD Won't Recognize Photoshop Disc
Is this the original disk from the Adobe box, or a copy of it (or of the download from the Adobe online store)? If it's a copy, the problem may be that it was made as a multisession disk that wasn't finalized. In that case, the disk would work only in the machine that recorded it. If that machine is still available, it may still be possible to finalize it.

Re: CD Won't Recognize Photoshop Disc
Hi, Thanks for trying to help me! No this is an original Adobe cd. Used only once. I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't boot up.

Can you install on XP home version?

Re: CD Won't Recognize Photoshop Disc
That's what he can't do!
I presume other CDs can be read OK?
Have you try your Adobe disk on another computer, just to see if it is damaged?

Re: CD Won't Recognize Photoshop Disc
rephrase question, does XP home support CS2?
I know know that Vista home will not support CS3.

does XP home support CS2?
Without digging out the box, I'd say yes.

Re: CD Won't Recognize Photoshop Disc
Cris,
What do you mean with "it won't boot up"? I don't think it's supposed to be bootable.
Can't you navigate to the disk, to the Photoshop folder and launch Setup.exe?
How about the readability of other CD's?

Re: CD Won't Recognize Photoshop Disc
I'm sure he doesn't mean "boot up" but "autostart"; and he answered the second question already.
3rd question I asked already.
