I've been working in Photoshop CS for the past few days on one .PSD file. I've been saving, closing and reopening this file several times a day. It's saved in My Pictures and hasn't been saved anywhere else. Today when I tried to open this file I was told "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop."

To my knowledge I didn't do anything differently the last time I saved it, there is nothing unusual about the name of the file, as I said it hasn't been moved in the time I've been working on it. Photoshop can still open every other .PSD that I have but this one. I've tried changing my prefs to maximize file compatibility to no avail.

I tried opening it in GIMP which can open any other PSD I throw at it, but when confronted with this one gives the message "Error loading PSD file: Unexpected end of file." GIMP will show a preview of the file, though, which Photoshop won't do.

Is there anything I can do to retrieve my work?
