I cannot export to Quicktime : Adobe Premiere
This is a discussion on I cannot export to Quicktime within the Adobe Premiere forums in Adobe Tools category; I am using premiere elements 3.0 and I cannot get an export in Quicktime format to show video. I can hear the audio but the video is a mess of purple, pink and green lines and blocks. I have 2 GB memory, 200GB fee hard drive space. I have also cleaned all the junk files off my system. My imported files are DV-AVI and all other export formats I have tried seem to work....

| Did you ensure, per installation instructions, that you had Quicktime installed before you installed Premiere Elements? Do you have the latest version of Quicktime installed? Can you describe, step by step, what you're doing and what's not happening? |

| I'm pretty sure Quicktime was installed. I always have the most up-to-date version of iTunes on my system to support my ipod and it comes with Quicktime, right? I have a sony camcorder that uses digital 8 tapes and has a fire wire connection. I captured the video from my camcorder using the fire wire and all the clips were captured in DV-AVI format and seem to be in good shape. I was able to edit all my clips and add audio tracks to create a 2 minute (approx) movie. Once my movie was complete, I clicked export, Quicktime. I chose 112K for ISDN to keep the file size down (I've actually tried all dial up and all broadband presets with the same result) and did not do any advanced adjustments. I saved the file location on my HDD and the rendering began. The rendering of 4499 frames completed in about 4-5 minutes. When complete, the rendering screen disappeared. Then I went to the location where the file was created and double-clicked to launch. Quicktime opened and the video display was made up of purple, green, and pink lines and blocks. It looked like a damaged Atari 2600 game. When I clicked the play button, the lines and blocks moved around but I could not make out any recognizable video. The audio played back perfectly. I have tried exporting to another DV-AVI file prior to Quicktime. The DV-AVI file was fine, but I had the same problem once I tried to export to Quicktime again. The Windows media format seems to work okay too. I haven't tried them all yet. Is it possible that I had a corrupt verision of Quicktime when I installed the Premiere Elements? Let me know if you need any more detail. Thanks for your help, Eric |
