Create your postcard and gradually reveal the writing

I'd use a human hand to write your message - much more authentic than
script fonts.

- you could then use a moving mask or a paint programme to create
individual frames by selectively REMOVING individual letters or strokes.

Obviously then you reverse the reassembly of the frames, starting with
the 'blank' card.

There are probably various 'plugins' available if you are feeling flush.
