Adobe Premiere 6 Performance Problems Dear Group: I am having trouble with Premiere 6. It takes forever to open a video project. When I look at task manager while the project is opening, premiere.exe is reading about 12 GB of data from my hard drive. After it has done so, the project opens. If I jump to a different spot in the video timeline, same thing. If I try to play the video in premiere, the computer continously reads from the hard drive and never will play the video.
The project consists of two AVI files, one is 36GB and the other is 13GB. My computer has 2 Xeon 2.2GHz processors, 1GB of RDRAM, 200GB storage hard drive, and is running Windows 2000.
I'm not very familiar with the performance settings in Premiere, so this may be a simple problem, but I don't know where to start to solve this problem. Thanks for your help! |
