Premiere Elements 4 - BIG PROBLEM : Adobe Premiere

This is a discussion on Premiere Elements 4 - BIG PROBLEM within the Adobe Premiere forums in Adobe Tools category; When I import a video into a project the video runs very fast, faster than the slider goes. It goes through the whole 2 min clip in about 20 secs but the slider isn't at the end of the clip. I have the K-Lite Codec Pack installed. It does this with that installed. When I install the pack and try to install just the xvid codec it does not work. The video goes into the project but the clip is purple and does not preview. I NEED HELP....

Get rid of the K-lite pack it messes up the system and convert dvix to dv-avi.
Elements does not like divx or xvid, too compressed. Most editing software don't like divx. Divx is for watching not editing.
Only install codecs you need!!!

The free download Super will convert Divx to DV-AVI, the preferred format for Premiere Elements.

As Ann says, if you convert the file, your problems will go away.

Divx, xvid files are imported in PRE if they have codec installed. So, its batter to import DV-AVI as mentioned by Grisetti
