FZzzzzz, sound, how to be rid of it. P4

This is a discussion on FZzzzzz, sound, how to be rid of it. P4 within the Adobe Premiere forums in Adobe Tools category; I did some voice over on my production, but it has some "Fzzzz" sound in the background. Is there a audio filter that I can run a pass on to elimante some the Fzzzzzz. I know I won't be able to get rid all of it. thank you...

You can try the Notch filter, which is designed to eliminate specific frequencies of sound.

Premiere Elements has a decent notch filter, but there's an even better one in the free download Audacity, an excellent audio editing app.

If the Fzzz is constant, then you could get better results using the noise reduction feature of Audacity. The method relies on finding a short section of Fzzz all by itself, getting its spectrum (frequency components) and then subtracting that from the voice with Fzzz. You can only get modest improvement at best because too much subtraction will introduce unnatural and unpleasant side effects.

Doing voice over work with a camcorder might can be pretty touchy.

thanks for the insight.

It is far better and easier to record your voice in a low noise environment in the first place, than try to clean it up afterwards.
