Timeline confusion : Adobe Premiere
This is a discussion on Timeline confusion within the Adobe Premiere forums in Adobe Tools category; I have just upgraded to PE7. Problem, when I want to add clips to the timeline, I have different clips-some .AVI(Digital Camera) and some .VOB (Video Camera). When I try to add them to the Timeline, they end up in DIFFERENT tracks !! Even when I add them to the Sceneline, when I go back to the Timeline, they are in different tracks. How do I get them all in the same track? This did not happen in PE4....

Is this due to Dolby 5.1 clips only being able to be used on certain tracks (I've seen that mentioned in other threads).

What's even worse is that automatic DVD marker placement works for clips only on track 1. This is just really incompetent design.

Looks like your video has 5.1 audio channel. Can you please confirm? As Premiere ELemenets timeline is stereo, so when you add any video file having 5.1 audio, it adds to top most track.
