I was recommended that I use a CMS to help make my site for user friendly from my end as I update articles etc...
What I'd like to know is: once I've downloaded Joomla, how do I install it on my host server?
Can I publish Joomla to my server via GoLive?
Or must I access the server via the net on an ftp address?
And then would I do the same with any templates or updates that I'd add later on???
Any help greatly appreciated.

PS: you can go to <http://www.soulonfire.co.za> to see my original site that I put together using GoLive, and see what I'm working with at the mo.

Were you able to access the installation instructions that came with the package?
When using a CMS, you will not want to use the site management function of GoLive. The CMS is now the site manager. You can still use GoLive to connect to the CMS via the FTP function. Change only the config files and templates through GoLive. All other content is managed within the CMS via a web browser interface.

That should be in the instructions somewhere, and you need to check that you server can support PHP/MySQL or whatever things it needs.

You can use the GL FTP.

I'm pretty sure that your templates must be redesigned, since you must add "placeholders" to make the CMS know where it should add content.
