All our apps are of course on our local drives however we do keep our artwork files which we are working on on our network drives. But i did not think that mattered as they are loaded into RAM when open.

As for MAC vs PC, I learned on a mac, but now i prefer the PC for one reason-- you can rename, move, cut and paste files,even FTP all from within any apps dialogue box (eg Indesign open box) -- you do not have to go back to the 'finder' which i find is a HUGE pain when I am at home on my mac. This feature of windows is extremely productive when working on many files during the day.

But in terms of any difference to quality or productivity problems, there is no difference and no reason to use MAC over PC (unless slowness issue i mentioned is not solvable).
