And good thing we do not work on very large files here often because that really slows things down. Any advice for getting adobe to work faster on PCs? If you want specifics the Photoshop forum is a good place to ask.

But I can say that I used to work like that (PS, ID and AI open simultaneously, and fairly large PS files) on a 32-bit XP system, with no noticeable problems.

It really comes down to disk I/O as there's no way you can hold all of that in RAM. I had 5 hard drives, including two RAID 0 arrays for system and PS scratch.

Now, of course, with Vista 64, the situation is very different.
