| FTP? Or PDF? No problem creating PDFs from within Adobe applications. FTPs are sent via a standard utility such as Fetch or Transmit. Again, not an issue. At least not one that I see raised in the Mac forums. Neil, I am not sure you get what I mean, in Windows you can do all this within any program's dialogue box. It does not appear to be the case on a mac. You have to go back to the finder. Of course a mac user would get used to that so it is no big deal to them, but having xp at work and being able to do this, it becomes a pain when i go back to my mac at home. Like you said, it is what you are used to, I was only pointing out this difference. I just find it quicker, but that is me. I am sure if you have your finder set up in the dock or whatever you could do that, but Windows eliminates this step-- it would be like having to back to Windows Explorer to do the same thing. As for what is 'proper renaming' --not sure what you mean-- I rename files, move, copy and paste them into new folders, compress, and ftp just fine from my Indesign dialogue box with absolutely no corruption problems or any other problems. Have been doing it for years. I do not have to use a 3rd party ftp utitlity. It simply saves clicks of the mouse--call me lazy. It sounds like you have never used Windows and the features I am referring to and perhaps if you did you would understand what I am talking about. I am just trying to enlighten people about this difference which many are not aware of-- even if they use Windows. |
