This is a discussion on How do I lock a layer in place? within the Adobe Tools forums in category; Thank you Nate! that is exactly the simple solution I was looking for. Ooops - here is one more question....
I only need the wrapper on the home page because of that overlapping layer. But I made the inside pages by duplicating the home page. How do I remove the wrapper from the inside pages - just to simplify the code. I don't want to mess it up...
Thanks,
Marty

To remove the wrapper, you'd need to delete the #wrapper style in the CSS editor (or in the source code), then go into source code view to remove the div that was added (not a great way to do that part visually in GoLive). It's an easy enough change though:

Right after the opening < body > tag, delete this line:
< div id="wrapper">

....and right before the closing < body > tag, delete these:
< !-- /wrapper -->
< /div>

(just delete that last /div, not the others before it)

Another thought - in case you need to use it later, you could still leave the < div > code in your pages, and move out the CSS part to your external CSS file (so it's just in one place). If you wanted to go that route, don't worry about changing anything in source code view for the div, just go to the CSS Editor and cut (or copy and delete) the #wrapper style, open your /scf/css/basic.css file, and paste it into there instead. Then re-upload both the basic.css file and your page, and refresh the page in your browser.

I'd make a backup of the page first just in case something doesn't get copy/pasted right.

Or, if it's just for the sake of removing a bit of code - I'd leave it there
