The printed edition still reflects the current
implementation gawk 3.1.6 rather well. You have
to go into details like i18n, new versions of
texinfo, updating copyright info, changes in the
gawk grammar, corrections in the handling of
numerical data, and a few new options. Look into
the file doc/ChangeLog of the source distribution.

* gawk.texi (igawk): Do not put temporary files in /tmp, as that
has some security problems. This fixes a problem originally
reported by Jarno Huuskonen via solar@openwall.com.

Fix the following problems with igawk while we're at it.

* Report missing operands of options; this fixes e.g. an
infinite loop with "igawk -W".

* Check for --source and -Wsource only, not -.source (which matches
errors). Similarly for other multichar options.

* Do not use 'echo', as that mishandles backslashes.

Thanks for your help. The only change relevant to the programmer
I can see in the list you posted is the addition of --exec.
