Requirement calculation and auto-reservation - Axapta

In your Production module -> Setup -> Parameters, did you set the Reservation
field correctly?

Hmm, I am quite convinced that the production order(s) are all started.

Do you think that this feature works for only certain production orders -
identified by their status ?

Hello Jens,

The Reservation production parameter determine whether Auto-reservation of
raw material will occur and when it occurs. If you set the parameter as "Started",
it means that the system will only reserve the materials when you change
the production order status to "Started".

I suspect the Explode/Auto reserve feature checks on this parameter setting
and decide whether it should perform the auto-reservation.

I did not test it, maybe you can verify and let us know.

Could you please tell me if any conclusion was reached regarding this thread?

I did not want to set Auto-Reservation Parameter to Started or any other Status - but I thought on this form, I could make a decision that for an imminent Production Order, I could apply Reservations.

Either way it makes sense - you need rules - keen to know what the rules really are!
