WPF Applications

This is a discussion on WPF Applications within the basic.visual forums in Programming Languages category; I am using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition with SP1 installed. When I attempt to initiate a WPF project, the design surface (to accept controls) does not load. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks....
