    Yves,

Sending messages has nothing to do with Exchange, hence my question.

Hi Yves, typically you would have something like Outlook installed on
the Client which can be used to send mail, create calendar items, task
requests etc. also it can be queried for this info so you could display
it in your own app if you need to. Outlook will connect to the exchange
server. You could of course re-build Outlook but that would be a lot of
work ;-). If you just need to create items in Exchange directly you an
use CDO. Have a look at the various articles on how to do things like
    this on our site:
    http://www.voconversion.com.au/VoCon...n/default.aspx (scroll all
the way down for the CDO-one).

  9. Default Re: Exchange server and VO

    Yves,

Outlook is a client application and Exchange is a server. Mostly you
would write your own 'client' (like the VO mail client) or use Outlook's
object model via ole. We have white papers from conferences
demonstrating this (tasks, meetings, reminders, calendars, etc). As Ed
mentioned, you can use CDO to directly create and access exchange data
stores. CDO is much more efficient obviously but it is very version
specific. OLE is less version dependent bt it needs ole <s>. It is all
reasonably complex but only from the perspective that there is a lot to
learn and much to deduce from documentation.

    Hello Yves,
You will find some code on my web site www.echo-soft.com (choose "french
language" and follow the vo link).
It's a quit and (not so dirty) piece of code to access and assign Outlook.
