That is proprietary information. To customers who need to access Vision from a C program or other non-COBOL program Acucorp (or now Micro Focus) can supply a Vision File Interface. You'll need to contact a sales rep and go throught the legal paperwork to get this. |

Afaik each file has a haeder of one block (512 or 1024 bytes). The two bytes on offset 4 and 5 contains the vision version number (2...5). The contents of the header depends on the vision version (at least the user count has a different position for each version - I investigated it because we had some trouble with the user count) -- Gruss, Lothar |
