My own imprsssion is that most computer systems, especially
commercial, small business and personal, would find it much easier to
do without them. Navigation, astronomy and possibly telecommunications
applications may have rather more problems.

Hugo Chavez didn't give Venezuela or the zoneinfo folks much
consideration when he moved their timezone by half an hour. It would
be easier to do without changes in zoneinfo, but we don't get that
option. It's a choice of how we value our descendants. See

Hum. Having read the articles below, I think it might be less complicated
to install rockets around the equator to speed up the earth once a decade or
so ...
