    Thank goodness.

Perhaps in the fact that you have data and he hasn't? <g>

Hey I hope i'm wrong but i doubt it. It irelevant anyway because you've
lost me as a customer. As i've said before after having to buy a QT
license, I can no longer afford to buy welfare copies of BDS in the
hopes that you will go where I need you too.

I had to spend > $2,000 on QT because you still don't have a native
toolset for windows mobile and linux.

I'm not going to develop with two toolsets so now that i've made that
investment in QT I will more than likely stop all new development in
    Delphi/BCB.

The developers here that work with me all agree that even though we
never use the C++ product, we like that we get it in the box when we buy
    the RAD STUDIO package.

C++ has "bona fides" so to speak. That the tool we use for all our
development work does ObjectPascal, and also includes a pretty good C++
compiler that uses the VCL is a /great /thing.

    I haven't written a line of C++ in like ten years. I don't miss the /C++
language /one bit. But just like all that SQL stuff that I don't use,
I'm glad it's all in the box with the RAD STUDIO product.

What would you rather have in the box? a c++ compiler you never use and
(limited) .net support or a native tool that cross compiled to
linux/windows mobile, 64 bit support, unicode, improved pascal language
    support (generics, optional garbage collection)?

I contend that if they hadn't wasted so much time chasing .net and
possibly C++ builder, we could have all these things. Just my opinion
    of course.

Posting in the newsgroups is a personal conviction of mine because I
was a customer before I became an Employee.

There are may. Reading the newsgroups is completely voluntary,
    particularly the non-technical ones.

Well, you seem so sure, that is why I asked. Again, if you know stuff
we don't know, I'd love to hear it.

    Nick,

There is no way for us to know what you do and do not know.

Perhaps the most efficient approach to getting this information
exchanged would be for you to tell us everything you do know. Then, if
you leave out anything that anyone else knows, they can supply the
    missing information. :-)

If nothing else, it might be interesting to many of us here to learn
some of the things you know that we do not. ;-)

This is a good start (At least relevant as to why C++Builder will
    continue to exist):

    What an interesting idea. ;-)

I was just asking, because if Mike has any good ideas on us becoming
better off by dropping a profitable, fairly high margin product, I'm
    all ears. ;-)
