I have a question to the convolutional coding gain:
I have plotted the coded BER (Hard decision, (133,171) and rates = 1/2,
2/3 and 3/4) as a function of the uncoded BER.
I plotted it from a range (y-axis) that goes from 0.5 to 1e-7, but the
problem is that i'm also interested in the coded BER values below that
point.
I could maybe do it, simulating with matlab, but below that point the
simulations are simply eternal.
The question is: can we expect to have the same coding gain behaviour as
the one observed in the plotted curve/range? Would this asymptotic
behaviour be independent from the coding scheme/rate?
