Hi,

from the command window in WinXP, I can ftp to my default directory on
a Tandem machine and list its contents (among others the file 'test').
The pwd-command returns "\P12.$C01D08.ERENS".
I'm trying to use the netrw-plugin in Vim7.0c to edit that file: in
gvim I type:
:e ftp://P12/$C01D08/ERENS/test
which results in an error message like: 'File open error = 4198'.

Any ideas what this error number means exactly, or where I can find it?
(searching for 4198 in the netrw.vim files gave me nothing...) And
possibly a solution? Maybe I should sort of escape the dollar-sign?

Thanks in advance,
Roger
