| I need a small tool that helps me drawing UML notations for classes, squence diagrams etc. No roundtrip engineering, just a simple little pen/paper replacement for annotations, in fact i don't want to use my Viso program or some other tools because they insists of stupid parameter dialogs whenever i add for example a method name, or hundert other things. I tried to install Dia for Windows but it fails with an relocation bug in libiconv during startup. |

| For windows users, most people use Microsoft visio. For mac, I would recommend Omnigraffle, just google it, its free and works great. regards Yudi llothar wrote: > I need a small tool that helps me drawing UML notations for classes, > squence diagrams etc. > No roundtrip engineering, just a simple little pen/paper replacement > for annotations, in fact i don't want to use my Viso program or some > other tools because they insists of stupid parameter dialogs whenever i > add for example a method name, or hundert other things. > > I tried to install Dia for Windows but it fails with an relocation bug > in libiconv during startup. |

Yes, UML Studio looks very nice. But i hopped there was something in the less then $100 market. I only need to draw and maintain a a few diagrams. So the program is overkill for my purposes. I tried SmartDraw but this is strange, buggy and extremely slow on an AthlonX2 4400 :-( |

I also recall Metamill, good shareware IIRC, and Sparx Systems Something, originally from Australia (the latter had a good UML tutorial, too.) |

It's got a heavy Java flavor (written in it, etc), but Argo is free. http://www.tigris.org |
